A GREMLINS remake has been kicking around for a while now, and it looks like the folks at WB Pictures are pouring water on it, because it’s getting more likely! The group is talking with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment for rights to a reboot. This has already happened over and over because of the money Spielberg wants, but WB is getting more serious this time.
We don’t know much more beyond that, except that WB is trying to make it happen, and it seems closer than ever.
The first film was directed by Joe Dante and was a massive hit way back in 1984. A sequel, GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH, made its way to theaters in 1990. We’ve been safe ever since. Until now.
