Guillermo Del Toro has already traveled a rough road to bring H.P. Lovecraft’s AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS to the big screen, but he’s not giving up, in the face of PROMETHEUS similarities and the busiest schedule known to man.

Here’s the update for Del Toro-philes:
“I’m going to try it one more time…Once more into the dark abyss. We’re gonna do a big presentation of the project again at the start of the year and see if any [studio's] interested … Tom is still attached. I think it would be so fantastic to make it with him. He’s been such a great ally of the project. I saw [Prometheus] finally..yes, there are things in common, but, you know, screw it. Lovecraft was there first.”
I think his response to PROMETHEUS will probably delight many a Lovecraft and Del Toro fan (and Scott/Lindelof haters). It’ll be interesting to see when this project takes off, if ever.
