The Watchowski siblings are already at work on their next project, a sci-fi film called JUPITER ASCENDING. It sounds like the usual for them: broad scoped, big ambition science fiction. In my opinion, CLOUD ATLAS failed (it was a bloated, mostly uninteresting mess with ridiculous makeup), but I’m still excited to hear more about this one. They’ve added Eddie Redmayne to the cast, a rising young star who made his mark in Hollywood with MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, was in the mix for Harry Osborne, and who’s starring in the upcoming LES MISERABLES. He joins Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
The film is described as follows: “The film focuses on higher forms of life who are watching us from other worlds. Kunis will play a Russian immigrant who is busily scrubbing toilets for a living. Unbeknownst to her, she actually possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe and is therefore a threat to her otherwise immortal rule.“ I’m sure we will be uncovering more info on the project as it unfolds.
