Every year, 3D films get the spotlight at the 3D Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA. This year, the event — featuring films, shorts, seminars, and galas — takes place from Thursday September 20th to Saturday September 22nd. We’ll be attending, so you can look forward to some excellent coverage!
We here at Famous Monsters recently ran a contest giving away four pairs of tickets to SPIDERS 3D, the headlining film for the opening night gala this Thursday. If you missed out, don’t fret. We’re not done. We also have five pairs of tickets to giveaway to the screening of PIRANHA 3-DD!! Dimension Films’ PIRANHA 3-DD screens on Friday as a part of a double feature with Screen Media Films’ NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D: REANIMATION. If horror isn’t your thing (what are you doing on our website?), they even have KATY PERRY: PART OF ME airing on Friday (I’d judge you, but that’s my first choice). Assuming horror is your passion, you canrevel in A HAUNTING IN SALEM, PARANORMAN, and the world premiere of the Malaysian film WAR OF THE WORLDS GOLIATH IN 3D. The fest also features a bevy of 3D music (don’t ask me what that means) and a 3D nightclub for after parties (I hope everyone has to wear glasses).
On Saturday night, the festival honors Roger and Julie Corman, and will screen his newest film ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT CHEERLEADER at 10:30 PM. All in all, the event promises a bunch of fun titles, and a lot of eye popping action. We hope to see you there!
