The show will feature Dorian Gray, Van Helsing, Dracula, Dr. Frankenstein and his monster, and other famous characters from literature. Due to the talent and content involved, PENNY DREADFUL is one of my most anticipated projects.

Production begins in London this fall, and I’d expect we’ll start hearing some casting news pretty quick.

RIDDICK opens September 6th, and stars Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Keri Hilson, Katee Sackhoff and Karl Urban.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) has signed a slate of renowned global licensees, led by master toy partner Bandai America Incorporated, to capture the adventurous thrills of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ highly anticipated film Godzilla.  Returning the character to its epic roots, Godzilla stomps into theaters on May 16, 2014, with a star cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.

Featuring spectacular creatures, thrilling action, epic battles and a legendary monster, Godzilla provides the backbone for a monstrous merchandise offering for fans of all ages and enables compelling cross-category opportunities across mass and specialty retailers.

Bringing the monster-tail to life, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in partnership with Legendary Pictures, has developed a roaring roster of licensees ready to create product in a variety of categories including toys and figures, apparel and accessories, costumes, publishing and more. Global master toy partner Bandai will release action figures and play sets inspired by the spectacular adventure film.

Additional licensees developing product to support the larger-than-life tentpole film include NECA with gifts and novelties; Jakks Pacific with large scale figures; Bioworld with on-trend apparel; and Sideshow Collectibles with authentic statues. Trevco will also release a line of t-shirts and apparel, while Rubie’s will design Godzilla costumes that are sure to delight children and adult fans.  Products inspired by the film will be available at retailers worldwide, with several products also available at www.WBShop.com.

The 1976 cult classic film starring Michael York has been in the reboot stages with Jon Berg overseeing the process for for awhile, with Bryan Singer and Nicolas Winding Refn both interested in the project at separate points. This hire could get the ball rolling again.

Beyond that, we know that SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED director Colin Trevorrow will direct Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa’s screenplay.

Hurt joins Corey Stoll and Mia Maestro in the pilot (which is angling for a 13-episode pick up), and “will portray Professor Abraham Setrakian, a holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States after World War II and now runs a pawn shop in Spanish Harlem. As the outbreak spreads, he may be the only one with answers – if anyone will listen.”

del Toro met the announcement with much enthusiasm, as can be expected: ”I am incredibly happy to be reunited with John, who is one of the greatest actors in the world and one of my favorite people ever…Chuck and I always visualized him while writing The Strain novels and he is absolutely perfect for the part!” del Toro will be directing the pilot, from a script he co-wrote with Chuck Hogan from his vampire trilogy.

Seriously, the cast now has Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, Brendan Gleeson, David Thewlis and Ben Kingsley attached. Brad Anderson (THE CALL) will direct from Joseph Gangemi’s script for Millennium Films. Production supposedly begins next week.

Clarkson will play “Chancellor Ava Paige, the highest ranking member of the organization trying to test children to find the strongest, most intelligent warriors.” THE MAZE RUNNER is like LOST, LORD OF THE FLIES and HUNGER GAMES combined as kids with no recollection of how they got there, struggle to reach the end of a puzzling labyrinth.

The film is set to be directed by first timer Wes Ball and features a youthful cast that also includes Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, Aml Ameen, Will Poulter and Blake Cooper.

LOS ANGELES (June 18, 2013) – Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand, has officially slated EVIDENCE from Director Olatunde Osunsanmi (The Fourth Kind). The film stars Stephen Moyer (HBO’s “True Blood,” Strange Love), Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill, Man on Fire), Torrey Devitto (CW’s “The Vampire Diaries”), Caitlin Stasey (I, Frankenstein) and Dale Dickey (HBO’s “True Blood”) and written by John Swetnam. EVIDENCE will debut on premium VOD on June 21, 2013 and in-theaters on July 19, 2013 in Los Angeles, New York and major US markets. The announcement was made today by Image Entertainment’s Chief Acquisition Officer, Bill Bromiley.

“Radha Mitchell and Stephen Moyer elevate the film and lead audiences on a suspenseful journey,“ said Bromiley. “Whether they watch EVIDENCE in the comfort of their own home or on the big screen, audiences are left at the edge of their seats.”

EVIDENCE tells the story of a team of detectives (Moyer, Mitchell) trying to piece together what happened at the site of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene. The footage reveals a group of bus passengers who were forced to fight for their lives after they crash in the middle of the desert and a mysterious killer violently murders them one by one.

EVIDENCE was produced by Bold Films’ Michel Litvak and David Lancaster, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Nik Mavinkurve, Anthony Rhulen and Jeffrey Stott, and executive produced by Gary Michael Walters of Bold Films and Jake Wagner. The music was composed by Atli Örvarsson, known for his work on Babylon A.D., Iron Man and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
