This news was expected, but it doesn’t make it any less great. According to sources, Hugh Jackman is in talks with Bryan Singer and company to join X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, a movie that is bringing the best of the original series and the best of the prequel, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, together for a time travelling mutant medley.
Jackman would join a confirmed roster of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart for the film. It’s set for a July 18th, 2014, release. We’ll be hearing a lot more about this in the coming weeks. If they’re hewing closely to Claremont’s original, at least thematically, they’ll need to find their Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, or rehire Ellen Page to reprise the role.
