Lionsgate Aims For More Low Budget Horror

Lionsgate is jumping back into the low budget horror (and comedy) game. The House of SAW has brought in John Sacchi to head a new division dedicated to horror and comedy projects in the $2.5 million range.

The new division will aim to mirror the success of Blumhouse Productions, with their films like INSIDIOUS and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY raking it in despite low budgets. We shall see how successful the studio is, but it’s exciting news for horror fans nonetheless. It will most likely add to the number of horror crap we see every year, but also increases the possibility for horror gems to fall through the cracks.
