In an article discussing the business deal between Lucasfilm and Disney, George Lucas had some interesting comments about the involvement of fan favorites Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. Fisher, earlier this week, responded “Yes” to the question if she was going to be in Episode VII.
This news seems to indicate all three are “pretty much” already onboard. Here’s Lucas:
“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation…So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.‘” He pauses. “Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.“ Then he adds: “I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.“
Expect a more formal announcement soon, but I’m fairly positive that we can expect all three onboard for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII in 2015.
