SANITARIUM, a film from Bryan Ortiz, Bryan Ramirez, and Kerry Valderrama, has released a new red band trailer, as well as some stills, to coincide with its upcoming premiere date. SANITARIUM’s world premiere is in Miami at the Miami International Film Festival on March 1st.
Why do we care? Just look at the cast, silly: the film stars horror great Malcolm McDowell, Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger himself), John Glover (SMALLVILLE), the immortal Lou Diamond Phillips, Lacey Chabert (a ton of voice work, PARTY OF FIVE), Chris Mulkey (FIRST BLOOD, BOARDWALK EMPIRE), and David Mazouz (TOUCH).
Synopsis:
“Sanitarium” is an anthology that consists of three segments based on particular patients of a mental institution. Each episode begins with Dr. Stenson (Malcolm McDowell), the primary physician at the Sanitarium, commenting on the recent arrival of a new patient. As Dr. Stenson speaks, the individual’s story begins. With elements from “The Twilight Zone,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “Creep Show,” and “Tales from the Crypt,” episodes explore the different narratives of the insane patients – tales which led to their crazed states of minds. These accounts reflect hallucinations, imaginary voices, and altered realities, and include themes of the paranormal, the unexplainable, and the mystical. The motion picture features thrillers, dramas, horror, and mystery.
