Matthew Vaughn Producing “Fantastic Four” Reboot

Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar may be FOX’s answer to Disney and Marvel’s overlord Joss Whedon. Mark Millar has been brought on as a consultant for upcoming adaptations, and Matthew Vaughn has been the one shepherding the new take on X-MEN, with THE FIRST CLASS and DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Now, it sounds like he’ll be producing the FANTASTIC FOUR reboot as well.

“Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news…Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot!”

With the guiding hand of Millar, and Vaughn producing both X-Men and Fantastic Four, many wonder if FOX is trying to plan a mini-Marvel universe with crossover potential, a la AVENGERS. CHRONICLE’s Josh Trank is directing the film, which is aiming for a March 6th, 2015.

While many fans wish they could all be under one umbrella, the idea of a larger universe at play with the X-Men and Fantastic Four is at least an interesting thought to ponder. More to come, I’m sure.
