It sounds like perhaps Paul Giamatti may be joining Jamie Foxx’s Electro as another villain in Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2.
I don’t know if it’s brilliant or the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in the New Year, but, if Giamatti signs on, it sounds like he’d play Rhino, AKA Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich (yeah, I had to copy and paste that bad boy), a low level thug turned unstoppable force due to nigh indestructible material grafted to his skin. It’s so bizarre it just might work (or blow up in their faces).
In less weird news, rising star Felicity Jones (LIKE CRAZY) is in talks for a role of some sort. Felicity Jones is lovely and is an up-and-comer, so this would be a no brainer coup for Webb, no matter the role.
Paul Giamatti and Felicity Jones would join a cast that already includes Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, and Martin Sheen. The sequel is set for May 2nd, 2014.
