Something strange has changed in Josiah. He has awoken with the power to give life to the dead. And he isn’t the only one with an amazing new ability. Halfway across the world, his brother Horace discovers his very presence can kill.

The brothers’ powers are not a secret to everyone, however. The vampiric witch Ogam plans to claim them for his own. The only hope for the brothers’ safety is to escape to the otherworld known as Alta, where they can realize the true power of their supernatural gifts.

Will they be able to defeat Ogam ,or will he take their love, their family, and their very souls?

I first heard of John when I read and reviewed the 2009 Lisa Morton edited anthology MIDNIGHT WALK, which was fabulous by the way. His story was titled THE TENNATRICK.

Now John has released his novel NERVES through Bad Moon Books and I have to say that it really hit a nerve…(pun intend).

I love supernatural stories with great monsters, humans with supernatural powers and epic battles between good and evil. NERVES pretty much contains all these things and more.

NERVES first and foremost has really great characters, fully realized and three dimensional that help draw you into the world that John has created. His characters are divergent, each with its own personality and quirks. Which for me is what makes a story work.

The story is fast paced, violent and bloody, with enough carnage and mayhem to keep you turning the pages at a furious pace. At no time during the story did I feel that John lost control of everything that was happening. He managed to keep it interesting and entertaining right up to the end.

If your in the market for something fresh and new in horror fiction I don’t think you can find much better on the market right now. NERVES is a hell of a book and John is one hell of a storyteller and I highly recommend it.
