On November 30th at 11:30 AM in front of the Guinness World Records Museum on Hollywood Boulevard, Rick Baker will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The place isn’t coincidental, as Baker will be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records in addition to receiving the star, for the most Oscars wins and Oscar nominations for Best Achievements in Makeup.
Rick Baker is a god amongst mere mortals in the realm of horror for his legendary work of monster makeup and creature confections, from AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON to ED WOOD to MEN IN BLACK to THE WOLFMAN. He created Michael Jackson’s werewolf in “Thriller,” a good many aliens in STAR WARS, and has done so much more for the industry during the 40 years his career has spanned thus far.
Ana Martinez, the producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies had this to say about Baker: “We are proud to honor those who have successfully helped make Hollywood what it is today with their talent and magical creations that fans have enjoyed since the beginning of the motion picture industry. Rick Baker is a revered artist who we are proud to say started his extraordinary career in California, home of the movies.”
