In the ninth (!!) TV spot for THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, we get our first glimpse of Smaug. This seems a bit premature, given that the third film is the one with the Smaug-centric subtitle and I don’t think fans of the book and LOTR expected to see the dragon at the end of the quest so soon.
The Peter Jackson film opens December 14th and stars Martin Freeman, Christopher Lee, Ian McKellan, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Armitage, Billy Connolly, Luke Evans, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lily, and Hugo Weaving.
