We’ve seen MOCKINGBIRD LANE (more people than NBC probably expected tuned in for the Halloween special) and we’ve mostly hated Bryan Fuller’s update of the classic hit THE MUNSTERS. Apparently, the show could’ve been a lot cooler, or would’ve looked a lot darker and monstrous, had some of the early concept designs by John Gallagher held up. The designs were revealed to Film Sketchr, and Gallagher clarified that concepts images such as these are “rarely created for any other function than to get my palette and form language started heading in the right direction.”
Herman looks more like a zombie Frankenstein rather than just…Jerry O’Connell. Eddie looks feral as hell, and Grandpa looks far more evil. I dig it. You can check out more concept images at this link.
