Some good news and bad news for James Wan, Blumhouse Production, and horror fans. Let’s start with the bad news. INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2, the sequel to (you guessed it!) INSIDIOUS, has been pushed back to a September 20th release date. I would guess that the move is more in regards to timeliness and to find less competition rather than anything wrong on the set, but that’s really just speculation at this point.
And now the good news (or bad news if you hate sequels and the franchising of horror movies): Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill are returning for SINISTER 2. The two will write the sequel for Blumhouse Productions, though Derrickson likely won’t return to the director’s chair for this one.
INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2 returns Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Barbara Hershey, and there is no word yet on who will return for SINISTER 2.
