HARRY POTTER’s David Yates is working on a new TARZAN film, and while there hasn’t been confirmation yet, he was eyeing TRUE BLOOD’s Alexander Skarsgard for the role of the great yelling, shirtless one, and Samuel L. Jackson as “Williams,” a Civil War vet. Now rumors turn to the role of Jane, Tarzan’s love interest.
Who they have in mind is a doozy: Jessica Chastain. The woman is all over the place, and is on the fast track to being one of the best actors in Hollywood, bar none. She’s recently been in THE HELP, ZERO DARK THIRTY, MAMA, TAKE SHELTER, LAWLESS, and a slew more. This is how Richard Johnson at the NY Post broke the news:
The overworked actress and recent Oscar nominee is said to be the first choice to play Jane in a new version of Tarzan… In this story, the jungle boy is fully assimilated to life in London when Queen Victoria asks him to investigate troubles in the Congo.
I don’t know how excited I am for this movie, but Jessica Chastain is a surefire way to lend the project legitimacy and enthusiasm on my end.
