Get ready for a whole lot more monsters. Benderspink has optioned the script entitled MONSTER X from Monsterfoot Productions, with the original idea coming from actor-writer-producer Ahmet Zappa (THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN). Chris Bender, J.S. Spink, and Jake Weiner (THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE) will team with Zappa on the project, which is sure to get FM fans excited, or maybe nervous, about the project.
The idea is essentially that 10 (thus the Roman numeral) classic, universal, famous monsters will team up in an AVENGERS-style film where the monsters will have to face an even bigger threat to save humanity. Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, and Mr. Hyde are the only one’s for sure named, but I’d expect to see an invisible man, a wolfman, a mummy, and such added to the mix.
Zappa’s also developing MONSTER WITNESS RELOCATION PROGRAM and THE MONSTROUS MEMOIRS OF A MIGHTY MCFEARLESS at Disney. Monsters are in, folks!
