Dread Central has been airing webisodes of GHOST TREK, a faux reality show lampooning all of the ghost hunting shows on TV today (like a GRAVE ENCOUNTERS comedy). They began on 10/8 and now have 3 webisodes up, with a fourth coming next Monday. We recently got our hands on the press release that describes the show and links you to a featurette, trailer and an interview with some cast members from the WWE.
If I’m watching it, it’s because it stars the little zombie girl from THE WALKING DEAD, Addy Miller. I have the trailer below, and the press release is below for your perusal, with links to a sizzle reel, interview with the cast, and a featurette on GHOST TREK: THE KINSEY REPORT. Enjoy!

Do you ever watch those ghost hunting shows and scratch your head, thinking to yourself, “These shows are so ridiculous. Why am I watching this?” Well, GHOST TREK creator, Michael Plumides watched marathon episodes of those shows one Christmas and came up with a comic-horror concept called, GHOST TREK, which takes a swipe at the whole genre – with you in mind.
GHOST TREK is the winner of a 2011 Corman Award for “Best Comedy” at Fright Night Film Fest, also 2011 Silver Addy Award for “Best Film Presentation Package”, and the “Viewer’s Choice Award” at Mad Monster Party 2012.
GHOST TREK: THE KINSEY REPORT is the pilot episode in an uncensored comic – horror series based around a paranormal reality show that will be featured on Dread Central in four separate webisodes beginning Monday, October 8th and will be presented every consecutive Monday (October 15th, 22nd, and 29th).
GHOST TREK doesn’t take itself too seriously, combining dope and bro humor with the paranormal. Creator Michael Plumides says, “GHOST TREK is like Kolchak: The Night Stalker meets The Venture Bros. but in a reality TV setting. When I wrote Ghost Trek, I wanted the characters to be founded in paranormal reality TV, but I wanted the humor to appeal to a broad viewership, so I added some reality-style drama, and I wanted to incorporate not just ghosts, but monsters, aliens, and crypto-zoology creatures with really cool effects. I also wanted it to be silly. I think we pulled it all off on a minimal budget and it was a lot of fun.” Plumides’ abilities recently caught the eye of Senior V.P. of Production at Morgan Creek, David Robinson, and he contracted with them as a creative consultant on Clive Barker’s Nightbreed TV Series in development.
GHOST TREK is an independent paranormal ‘mockumentary’-style concept that would make the creators of Spinal Tap proud – if you can imagine, it’s like Entourage meets Scooby Doo meets The Office. Shot in Charlotte, NC and it’s environs (Hunger Games, Homeland) This dark comedy stars Gia Allemand (The Bachelor, Bachelor Pad), Brett Gentile (Seeking Justice, Cold Storage), Jonny Fairplay (Survivor), Christy Johnson (Tobe Hooper’s Mortuary), Addy Miller (“Little Zombie Girl” from The Walking Dead), Julia Bullock (an instant hit on X-Factor Season 2), and legendary wrestlers, Disco Inferno and Colt Cabana (TNA, WWE, Ring of Honor).

GHOST TREK follows the Paranormal Underworld Detective Society (PUDS) as they investigate haunts across the U.S. and abroad between tanning beds, babes, body-building, and bong hits — all the while risking life and limb capturing the undead and unexplained on video. The team is lead by Dr. Zeke Wallace (Michael Melendez), a good-looking ex-chiropractor turned paranormal investigator, his ex-girlfriend and show’s producer, Shawna Leibowitz (Gia Allemand), Scary Carrie Carmichael (Christy Johnson), the “Living-Dead Roller-Girl” case manager, Barry ‘The Bomb’ Burkowski and Joey ‘Mayhem’ Moscone affectionately called The Goon Squad (Colt Cabana and Disco Inferno), The fashion-conscious psychic Guy Swisher (Brett Gentile), the team’s tech specialists and devoted stoners are Robbie (Michael Bortone) and Ray-Ray (Jonny Fairplay), Weasel the kleptomaniac “emo” cameraman (Kevin Johnson), and newbie Jules Partridge (Julia Bullock) the “investigator in training”.

In the pilot, the PUDS team travels to Aspen, Colorado to investigate a supposed “cursed” house where a young pageant girl, Tyler Rae Kinsey (Addy Miller), was choked to death with a jump rope. Meanwhile, Harvey’s office is picking a bubbly college girl to add to the PUDS team while stepping over Scary Carrie. Shawna discovers pics on Facebook of Zeke getting a little too cozy with a Russian club girl. The Goon Squad bow out of the investigation to make smoothies and watch hockey. The stoner Tech Specialists just want to keep their wieners and make it through the investigation in one piece.
