Lionsgate and WWE have been working at rebooting the LEPRECHAUN horror series, with WWE star Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl attached to play the Leprechaun. WWE Studios President Michael Luisi gave the project its first update in quite awhile:
“The tone is going to be a little darker…A little more traditional horror than the Warwick Davis ones that people remember. [We're] trying to find a way to please fans of that genre but, at the same time, this is really being played for scares.”
The film is viewed as a reboot, with no ties to the original six movies that starred Warwick Davis. A cameo is still possible for the fan fave.
