When Will “Hannibal” Come To NBC?

While Bryan Fuller’s MOCKINGBIRD LANE sunk, his other one looks far more promising and has a brighter future, certainly. That project is HANNIBAL, the prequel series based on Thomas Harris’ classic character, with Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, and Laurence Fishburne along for the ride, with a pilot directed by David Slade.

But when can we expect to see the show? According to Bob Greenblatt, NBC’s fearless leader, HANNIBAL could make it on the schedule before the end of the season if midseason shows tank, but that it could also be held until the summer.

Salke on the show: It’s very unique. It’s like a procedural you’ve never seen before.

The fact that it didn’t make it in as a midseason replacement can’t qualify as good news, but more and more often, summer has proved to be a decent  launching pad for TV shows.
