Though SPOTLIGHT ultimately stole the spotlight from THE REVENANT, and BRIDGE OF SPIES’ Mark Rylance KO’d the finishing touch on CREED star Sylvester Stallone’s comeback, Oscar night 2016 in some ways belonged to MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD may be obliterating all other genre films in mainstream kudos, but when it comes to the Saturn Awards, which honor Sci-Fi, fantasy, and horror, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS has steamrolled the competition with 15 nominations, including Best Science Fiction Film.
